HOLIDAY BEAUTY TIPS

So as you know, i've just been on holiday to the Maldives. Just my honeymoon you know, no biggie! Whilst I was there, blissfully sunbathing on the gorgeous idyllic beaches, I started thinking about my blog... naturally! I thought a post on holiday beauty would be fitting with the time of year. Summer holidays and festivals. This post will be about makeup, beauty regimes and hair care, but will also have a little summer playlist, accessory favourites and packing tips! Enjoy.

You want to keep your makeup to a minimum in the summer. The heat will melt it off, even eye makeup! And hair...keep as natural as possible.

Two brands // MAC // UrbanDecay

These were the only products I used for the whole two weeks while we were away. Some of you may even think that this is a lot but considering this was every single piece I used for two weeks, I think it's pretty minimal. No mascara? I had eyelash extensions, which is my top tip for a summer holiday. Who wants mascara running down your face on the beach, or Alice Cooper eyes in the swimming pool? Not me. I get them done a few days before I go away, and then when home and they're getting a little spider-like, I soak a cotton pad in baby oil and hold over my eye. Oil based products dissolve the eyelash extension glue, which is why is great for when you want them off, but don't want to pay for it!

1. Tinted moisturiser - For the evenings out, you won't be wanting a heavy foundation to cover up your tan.  I love MAC tinted moisturiser as it has SPF in it and is such a light coverage.

2. Light concealer - Under-eye circles are still present even when on holiday, which makes a few dots of bright concealer an essential! I am absolutely loving the MAC prep + prime highlighter pens as they illuminate and conceal under the eye.

3. A small eyeshadow palette - No one wants to be carting around loads of separate eyeshadows (I would need about 6) OR a really really big palette. So my solution to this is to take a mini eyeshadow palette- or in my case two. Urban Decay's 'Naked Basics' palette is the perfect holiday accompaniment as it has one shimmer colour, matte shades and a black for liner. I was a bit greedy and also took my own MAC palette which I spoke about in my previous post.

4. All in one contour kit - As above, no one wants to lug a bronzer, highlighter and blusher on holiday as that can take up alot of space. My Urban Decay 'Naked Flushed' palette is just ideal for holiday and I LOVE IT. Seriously wore this thing all summer. The bronzer and highlighter are just...perfect. I cheated a little bit and took an extra highligter as they are my favourite beauty item.

5. One staple lipstick - Try to only take one lipstick away with you, as you only really wear it in the evening anyway. If you follow my instagram @morganalicebeauty, you will know that my all time favourite lipstick is MAC cremesheen lipstick in 'Peach Blossom'.

If you're going on a summer holiday you must get a gelish pedicure. The most necessary beauty treatment as it will last at least a month and be visible every day!

Hair essentials: Dry hair shampoo// Leave in conditioner // Sun serum // Mini shampoo and conditioners

I don't usually wash my hair often. I just don't have that kind of hair that needs a wash every day- it's more a once a week occasion! So on holiday, I don't need a big bottle of shampoo and conditioner, which is why these mini ones are perfect! Sun, sand and sea dries the hair, and this line of Kerastase minitures were just what my hair needed. The 'Bain Force Architecture' line (green), reconstructs weak and damaged hair, and the 'Soleil Sun Protection' (red) protects your hair when out and about in the sun. It goes onto your damp washed hair and protects it all day! And finally, the most essential hair product: Batiste dry hair shampoo! It volumises, mattifies and transforms from daytime grease to evening WOW.

Holiday accessory essentials: Topshop silver necklace and hoops// Topshop orange scrunchie //Forever 21 earrings// Primark silver bangles //Forever 21 headband.

Finally, my holiday beauty regime. Now usually, my bedtime routine consists of A LOT of products! Neals yard eye makeup remover, bioderma, pixi glow tonic exfoliant, toner, eye cream, skin serum, moisturiser...and if I took all this away I think the 25kg allowance would be used up pretty quickly! So, whilst on my hen do spa day at centre, I bought the Decleor Hydrating Discovery Kit http://www.decleor.co.uk/gifts/all-gift-sets/hydrating-discovery-kit-309, which was £19.50 but worth so much more. It was the perfect holiday purchase as it had hydrated my skin every day which avoided peeling and dark circles. I also took my trusty ginzing eye cream and moisteriser which has always been a favourite set of mine.

Enjoy your summer holidays and watch out for my series of wedding blog posts coming soon!
